On April 28, 2019, a few special girls (minus one since she was in Canada – so cool!) and I met up at the Boathouse in Short Pump to celebrate their acceptance to be my Bridesmaids! Although they knew about the purpose of the brunch, none of them knew who else was invited or that I had a special gift for each of them. The gift was a proper proposal gesture, I took to Pinterest and Etsy to find items to go in the proposal boxes and was able to find the perfect vendor on Etsy to make shirts for my Maid of Honor, Bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride/Groom, and myself for a very reasonable price (all about SAVINGS when you are planning a wedding). Pedalisa, the vendor from Etsy was extremely responsive, professional, and reliable! I found the ask cards on Zazzle, the mini wine bottles came from Target, and of course the hand sanitizer and mini lotion came from Bath & Body Works! The hand sanitizers were a big hit as well because they said “Mrs.” with an image of an engagement ring (clever find by Nicky and I)! I also had a special little gift for my “nephew-to-be” in one box which was the CUTEST little grey and white outfit with a bow-tie. Hopefully he’ll be able to sport it at our engagement party in September after his August arrival 🙂
At brunch, we started the day out with prayer for an awesome experience leading up to our wedding day and ended it the best way we know how – a mimosa toast! I am so excited for my closest friends to learn more about each other and help me in my journey to becoming Mrs. Thurston! Each of them have played a special role in my life and have remained the same no matter the circumstance. Not only have they embraced me as their sister/friend, they have shared the same love for Nicky which makes this experience even more special! I can’t wait for all the adventures that lie ahead!
